Roald Dahl Day

Today is national Roald Dahl Day. Did you know? I didn't... I walk past a children's bookshop everyday and had no clue about this event.

Anyway, this event is held (?!) every year on the 13th of September, the date of the authors birthday.

Happy birthday Roald Dahl!

Whether you love the tales of Charlie Bucket and his chocolate filled adventures with Willa Wonka, or if you laughed out loud to The Twits' smelly tricks and the haste of Muggle Wump the monkey - chances are, whatever the story, Roald Dahl books appear somewhere in favourite childhood reads.

The eccentric novelist would have been 90 years old this year, so to celebrate, September 13 is officially the day to remember all things Dahl. So whether you organise a book party, dig out your favourite book to read to your child or take a trip to the Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre, make sure you help celebrate the life and books of Dahl with a bang. We'll certainly be planning something for next year.
