Parents Night...

Last night was the first parents night of A's last year of primary schooling. Scary thought!
So it went well. Kind of...

We need to get him more support assistant hours as the pace that they go at in primary 7 is tremendous and he needs to be stretched as much as possible to cope with the demands of high school. The teacher (first time I had met her despite numerous requests for meetings) spent the entire appointment praising what a fantastically lovely boy he is and really pressed home the statement that he really is a credit to us. It was all very strange as parents night for us is usually a drag, discussing A's failings on every level and where we need to target this term etc etc. She assured us that left in her hands, she WILL be making sure that A has all the support that he needs and we'll have a follow up meeting in 6 weeks or so to see if we have everything in place that he needs. What a relief!

One thing that we need to work on still is A's confidence which is non-existent when it comes to his school  work. How we would do this, I do not know...
