PRODUCT REVIEW: The Baby Aid kit.

We were lucky enough to be recent sent one of these products to review recently.

The Baby Aid portable first aid kit is a super compact first aid kit that contains everything you may need when out and about to take care of you little one and yourself! It looks super cute and is fantastic value for money.

Baby Aid was conceived by mumpreneur, Lorna Smith. Being a mum herself, and knowing first hand the reality of the accidents that can occur, from babies being burnt in coffee shops to toddler tumbles, Lorna was inspired to create something compact and stylish that every mum can carry with her at all times. With Baby Aid, mums have everything they will need for common emergencies. It is full of the essential like plasters and antiseptic wipes and it even has little reward stickers for your brave little people. For me, the highlight of the kit is the innovative Burnshield that is unique to the Baby Aid kit.

New mums like to meet up in parks and coffee shops with their new babies and toddlers to catch up (and have some caffeine) and even the most vigilant mum can’t prevent all accidents.

Lorna recognised this. "One of the most serious accidents is scalding with hot liquids, and I wanted mums to be aware and prepared if they were ever in this situation.  This is why the Burnshield is in all of our kits."

What is Burnshield?
Burnshield is a series of products ranging from a gel that comes in sachets for small burns and sunburn, to hydrogel impregnated foam burn dressings of different sizes. The gel provides immediate effective treatment -soothing, cooling relief for burns, scalds and sunburn.  It provides a protective barrier and prevents the burn progressing through healthy tissue and causing more damage. The Burnshield dressing is a unique versatile foam dressing which provides essential immediate treatment and protection within the first critical 24 hours following a burn.  The dressing is saturated with a sterile, water-based gel which is non-toxic, non-irritant and does not contain any fats or greases.  It moisturises the burn area, and soothing tea-tree oil cools the skin thereby minimizing trauma or tissue damage.  It is non-adhesive and can be removed with cool water or saline solution without causing discomfort.  For use on 1st, 2nd or 3rd degree burns-including facial burns and scalds.  Apply directly to the wound and cover with a protective bandage.

The Baby Aid lit is refillable and all of the products are available on their website. You can buy refill packs or individual items, just go to the Shop on their website.
